Call for Submissions
2024-08-09
Emerging Perspectives in Sustainability (EPiS) invites submissions from students and recent graduates who are passionate about contributing their unique perspectives on sustainability. We are a Diamond Open Access journal dedicated to amplifying emerging voices and fostering innovative ideas that explore the complex, multifaceted nature of sustainability. Our mission is to create a platform where fresh ideas, critical reflections, and practical solutions can be shared and discussed by a global audience.
We welcome contributions that examine sustainability issues at local, regional, or global levels. Whether you’re exploring a challenge in your community, proposing an innovative solution, reflecting on the cultural aspects of sustainability, or offering critical analysis on sustainability policies, your voice matters at EPiS. We are particularly interested in perspectives that highlight underrepresented regions and cross-disciplinary approaches, bringing together insights from different fields to address today’s pressing sustainability challenges.
What We’re Looking ForUnlike traditional journals, EPiS does not categorize submissions into rigid article types. Instead, we encourage authors to think of their work as a “perspective” on sustainability—whether it’s a regional insight, proposed solution, critical reflection, or personal narrative. Here are some examples of the types of perspectives we seek:
-
Regional Insights: Share observations on sustainability issues in your region, including the challenges faced and the innovative solutions being implemented.
-
Proposed Solutions: Present an idea or approach that addresses a specific sustainability problem, offering creative or evidence-based solutions.
-
Critical Reflections: Engage in thoughtful critique or commentary on sustainability practices, ethical considerations, or emerging trends.
-
Personal Narratives: Reflect on your sustainability journey, lessons learned, or shifts in thinking, offering a personal and relatable perspective.
We value depth, clarity, and originality over strict word counts. As a general guide, submissions can range from concise pieces of 500-1,500 words to more detailed essays of up to 3,500 words.
Our Supportive Review ProcessEPiS is designed to be a nurturing environment for emerging scholars and thinkers. Our review process is collaborative and focuses on helping you refine your ideas and strengthen your arguments. After an initial screening for alignment with our mission, your submission will be reviewed by our editorial team. You’ll receive constructive feedback designed to enhance the clarity, coherence, and impact of your work. We’re here to support your growth as a writer and advocate, not to judge or exclude.
